Day 1DEPART FROM ATLANTA – MUMBAI (International Flight)

Day 2ARRIVE MUMBAI – LONAVALA (110 kms approx in 02 hours)

Morning arrive Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport. Welcome to Mumbai. Fifteen million people live in Mumbai – industrialists, film-stars, artists, workers, teachers and clerks – all living cheek-by-jowl in soaring skyscrapers and sprawling slums. They come from diverse ethnic backgrounds and speak over a dozen tongues, adding colour, flavour and texture to the Great Mumbai Melting Pot. Mumbai is a city that never sleeps! If you’re visiting on business or holiday, there are lots of things to do and see. On arrival meeting, assistance at airport by our representative/tour leader and who will explain the travel plan and start straight drive to Lonavala. Lonavala is a beautiful hill station in Pune district of Maharashtra. It lies at an altitude of 622 m in the Sahyadri Ranges which separate the Deccan Plateau and the Konkan Coast. Lonavala is among the top hill stations in Maharashtra. The hill station is spread over an area of 38 square km. The name of the city is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Lonavali’, which refers to a ‘group of caves’. The name was given to the place due to the presence of many caves in and around the city. On arrival check in at hotel. Have dinner & overnight stay at Lonavala Hotel.

Day 3LONAVALA – YOGA RETREAT & EXCURSION TO LONAVALA

An early morning wake up for yoga and start followed by yoga teacher along with introduction. After nutritious, breakfast at hotel, Later in the afternoon, Enjoy Lonavala sightseeing, visit caves, lakes, forts. Also visit the main attraction, Tiger’s Lea, Bhushi Dam, Lonavala Lake, Rajmachi Point, Amrutanjan Point, Korigad Fort, Tikona Fort. Later back to hotel. Have dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4LONAVALA – YOGA RETREAT & EXCURSION TO KHANDALA

An early morning wake up for yoga and start followed by yoga teacher. After nutritious, breakfast at hotel, Later in the afternoon, Enjoy Khandala sightseeing, visit visit caves, lakes, forts and waterfalls. Rajmachi Fort, Visapur Fort, Lohagad Fort, Bedsa Caves, Kune Waterfalls, shooting point, Reversing Station, Lion’s Point, Bhushi Dam, Tiger’s Leap, Bhaja Caves, Evening back to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5LONAVALA – YOGA RETREAT & DAY FREE FOR LEISURE

An early morning wake up for Yoga, do Paranayam and advance technique followed by your teacher. Later also visit one of the famous Kaivalya Dhama Yoga Ashram, meet with Yoga Guru (teacher) and can start question answer se ssion. Later have delicious breakfast & day free for own activities. Optional you can enjoy Trekking in Khandala & enjoy a day in Imgica Adlabs. Khandala, Lonavala’s twin hill station, is also a popular trekking destination. It lies at the end of Tiger Valley, 3km away from Lonavala. Duke’s Nose cliff and Amrutanjan Point are both scenic places to take a break from walking and admire panoramic views of surrounding valleys, mountains, and forests. Have dinner & overnight stay at hotel. Day 6LONAVALA – YOGA RETREAT & DAY FREE FOR LEISURE

An early morning wake up for yoga and start followed by yoga teacher. Later have delicious breakfast & day free for own activities. Optional you can visit do excursion to Rajmachi, Rajmachi is a small village 15 km from Lonavala, which is also well-known for trekking. It’s home to 2 hill forts, Shrivardhan and Manaranjan. The forts at Rajmachi were traditionally used to control the valley between Khandala and Khopoli, a popular trade route. It’s a haven of shimmering waterfalls, emerald-green forests, meadows, and gushing streams. With so many natural attractions, it’s easy to see why it’s being developed into a future hot spot for ecotourism. Later also can visit historic Buddhist caves, Buddhist nuns built Bhaja and Karla Caves between the 2nd and 3rd century BC. They’re ancient marvels featuring stupas, which are shrines to residents who died there, as well as sacred statues decorated with precious gems. Bhaja Caves are a set of 22 caves, including the impressive quarters of the “Cave Master.” Outside the last cave, there’s a waterfall that’s active during monsoon season. Karla Caves, 24 km away, contains a very large cave temple. Inside, you’ll find sacred inscriptions, stupas, and more elaborate shrines. Have dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 7LONAVALA – AURANGABAD - EXCURSION TO VISIT ELLORA CAVES

An early morning after breakfast & check out from hotel, drive to Aurangabad. The gateway to the World Heritage Sites of Ajanta and Ellora, Aurangabad is named after the Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb. Lying along the right bank of the Kham River, the city is the district headquarters, which offers visitors all the modern comforts and amenities. Ajanta and Ellora are the pride of Maharashtr a. The rock-cut caves of both these sites are world famous and illustrate the degree of skill and artistry that Indian craftsmen had achieved several hundred years ago. On arrival check in at hotel. After wash & change excursion to visit Ellora caves. The famous Ellora caves are located in the lap of the Chamadari hills. These historical caves are regarded as world heritage and are situated 18 miles northwest of Aurangabad. The Ellora Caves are as old as 300 years. Later in the evening back to hotel. Have dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 8AURANGABAD - EXCURSION TO VISIT AJANTA CAVES

After breakfast at hotel, start excursion to visit Ajanta. The village of Ajanta is in the Sahyadri hills, about 99 kms. From Aurangabad; a few miles away in a mammoth horseshoe-fo rmed rock, are 30 caves overlooking a gorge, `each forming a room in the hill and some with inner rooms. Al these have been carved out of solid rock with little more than a hammer and chisel and the faith and inspiration of Buddhism. Here, for the Buddhist monks, the artisans excavated Chaityas (chapels) for prayer and Viharas (monasteries) where they lived and taught. Many of the caves have the most exquisite detailed carvings on the walls, pillars and entrances as well as magnificent wall paintings. These caves were discovered early in the 19th century quite by chance by a party of British Officers on man oeuvres. Today the paintings and sculptures on Buddha’s life, belonging to the more mellow and ritualistic Mahayana Buddhism period, are world famous. Ajanta has formed an epicentre of interest for those who appreciate and are eager to know more about Indian history and art. Later return back to Aurangabad and visit Grishneshwar Temple, Serves as the abode of one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple, with exquisitely sculpted walls, was built under the patronage of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, one of the rulers of the erstwhile state of Indore. And if time permit you can visit Bibi Ka Maqbara is a magnificent mausoleum. It entombs Rabia-ul-Daurani, alias Dilras Banu Begum, the wife of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The construction work on the mausoleum was started in the year 1651 and it took approximately 10 years to complete it. Prince Azam Shah, the son of Aurangzeb, got the tomb built in the memory of his mother.The design of the Bibi Ka Maqbara has largely been based on the Taj Mahal of Agra. However, it could not rival the magnificent ‘Monument of Love’ and was reduced to a poor imitation. Still, the mausoleum is today known as the ‘Taj of Deccan’. Have dinner & Overnight at hotel.

Day 9AURANGABAD – MUMBAI (330 kms approx in 6.5 hours)

After breakfast & check out from hotel, drive back to Mumbai. On arrival check in at hotel. Evening relax at hotel. Have dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 10MUMBAI – EXCURSION TO VISIT ELEPHANTA CAVES

After breakfast at hotel, Rewind to Mumbai’s pre-colonial days with a day tour of the Elephanta Caves. Ride a ferry to Elephanta Island in Mumbai Harbor, and explore its UNESCO-listed caves and rock art, believed to date from t he 500s. Explore the main Shiva Cave with its huge sculptures of Shiva and Hindu mythologies, and admire the smaller Buddhist caves as your guide shares their history. Later also visit Gateway of India – The Gateway is a huge stone Arch of Triumph originally constructed to commemorates the first-ever visit of a British Monarch to India. It was designed by the Scotsman George Wittet (1878-1926), who helped popularize the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture that combined Gothic-like flamboyance with Muslim-Indian architectural features. Later post lunch & enjoy city tour of Mumbai including -Victoria Terminus Building, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhawan, Crawford Market and Dhobi Ghat. Dinner & Overnight stay at Mumbai hotel.

Day 11MUMBAI – DAY FREE FOR LEISURE / SHOPPING

After breakfast at hotel, day free for shopping or leisure activities at your own. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
